Grey Court School, Richmond
Grey Court School was a new build 2300m2 two storey building providing a purpose built 6th Form Building. The building consisted of 9 Standard Classrooms, 5 ICT Classrooms, 3 Science Classrooms with associated Drama, Fitness, Resource and Social areas with standard offices and ancillary toilets and shower rooms.
The building achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating and consisted of a wet heating system serving radiators via gas boilers. The ventilation was achieved using a combination of natural ventilation to the standard classrooms and mechanical ventilation to the science and ICT Classrooms with the latter having cooling. The building was provided with photovoltaics and LED lighting to assist in Part L compliance and achieving the BREEAM Rating. The final EPC provided by KCS for the building achieved an EPC B Rating.
KCS Consulting Limited were employed by Lakehouse Contractors to take a Stage 3 Arup Mechanical and Electrical Design to Stage 4 to obtain competitive quotes from Mechanical and Electrical Contractors. KCS were then employed to attend site during construction to assist the main contractor and oversee the works.
The Mechanical and Electric project value was between £1-1.5M.
